A little while ago, I wrote a blog post about You And I Are Polar Opposites. I’m still going to do a full review of it later this month when the season ends, but I just had to talk about the show one more time. In my last post, I talked about romance fatigue. I was tired of seeing certain romance cliches and I was becoming uninterested in keeping up with most romance titles. Polar Opposites fixed that problem.
The season still has a few episodes left, but I’ve been so engrossed by the characters and themes that I’m craving more. Now I want to revisit ones that were stuck on the backburner in the hopes of chasing these feelings again. And boy we’re there a bunch of titles in the backlog, many of which are good titles that I just couldn’t finish. Two great examples are Komi Can’t Communicate and The Ice Guy And His Cool Female Colleague.
Between those two shows, I watched a combined three episodes despite wanting to get into both. Now I’m really eager to go back in and see what I’ve been missing out on. I’m also excited to get back into other romance titles that I never caught up with like My Dress Up Darling, The Fragrant Flower Blooms With Dignity, and Spice & Wolf.
I never thought I’d find an anime that would pull me out of my romance slump, but You And I Are Polar Opposites did just that. I’m incredibly grateful because it seems like I can start enjoying these animes again. Now I just need to find an anime that can pull me out of my Isekai slump.
