One of the most important things you can do in Fire Emblem: Three Houses is increase your professor level. It goes from E all the way to A+ and significantly changes how much you can do. When you’re at E, you only get one activity point. That means you can only do one activity. Duh. But what if you want to do more than one?
Choir practice, cooking together, eating together, faculty training, and tea parties all require one activity point. Being a low professor level means you can’t grow in all the areas that the game has to offer. But once you’re all the way up at A+, you get a hefty 10 activity points, plus a bunch of other bonuses. Raising your professor level quickly can make the rest of the game significantly easier.
The easiest way to increase your professor level is by participating in activities around Garreg Mach Monastery. Every time you perform certain actions during exploration, you’ll earn professor experience. While many activities provide small amounts of experience, some are much more efficient than others.
Fishing is one of the best methods early in the game. It’s one of the few activities that don’t require activity points, but you do need to ensure that you have bait. Every fish you catch grants professor experience, and special events such as Fistfuls of Fish can provide massive gains thanks to the increased number of fish you receive. If you’re trying to level your professor rank as quickly as possible, it’s worth saving your bait for these events.
Another excellent method is gardening. Planting and harvesting crops provides professor experience and requires very little effort. You get your first plot at E+, and a second plot at D. Plus this activity also requires no activity points. Since there’s no reason not to use the greenhouse every month, you should make gardening part of your regular routine whenever you explore the monastery.
Sharing meals with students is another reliable source of experience. Not only does it raise support levels and restore motivation for instruction sessions, but it also helps increase your professor level at the same time. You do need to use activity points for this, but it’s worth it because of the multiple benefits.
As you increase your level and start earning more activity points, it creates a domino effect because you can now use more points to do even more activities. Take advantage of as many activities and events as you can, not just for the character support, but for the experience too.
