Fire Emblem: Three Houses has a lot of classes to choose from, but one of the most unique is the Dancer class. When I first played, I didn’t even know this was a thing until late into the game. Unlike most classes, you can’t unlock it by leveling up weapon skills or passing a certification exam. Instead, you need to complete a special event during the game’s first part.
Fortunately, unlocking the Dancer class is fairly easy if you know what to do ahead of time. It becomes available during Chapter 9 when you are informed about the White Heron Cup. This is a special competition held, and the winner earns access to the Dancer class. You can only choose one character to enter, so make sure you pick carefully.
To win the White Heron Cup, your chosen character needs at least 13 Charm. Most students can reach this requirement naturally by the time Chapter 9 arrives, but if you’re concerned about their chances, you can increase their Charm by sharing meals, participating in activities, leveling up, and using stat-boosting items. You don’t have to worry about there being an actual competition either, as long as you have the 13 charm, you win automatically.
The Dancer class is a huge support class, because it gives buffs and let’s a nearby unit take another action. So you don’t want one of your main units taking this class. I went with Dorothea in every run. Even if I’m not playing Black Eagles, I recruit her just so she can take the Dancer class. Once you selected a unit for the competition, you also want to make sure that you take advantage of a special practice beforehand. That awards an additional 5 charm and significantly increases your odds of winning.
As long as you remember to participate in the White Heron Cup during Chapter 9, unlocking the Dancer class is straightforward, and it’s overpowered.
