I’ve played a lot of games through the first four months of 2026, but Cleaning Up was the most satisfying of them all. You play as a newly recruited cleaning lady for a large company, and you’re tasked with cleaning a bunch of small areas. The list of levels includes a bathroom, a library, an apartment, and others. The levels aren’t as big, or detailed as what you’d expect from a game like PowerWash Simulator, but they’re still super addicting.

When you first start off, you only have access to a broom and a vacuum. These early levels are also very short, lasting only two or three minutes each. Every five levels, you unlock a new tool, like a mop or air freshener. After unlocking new tools, you can revisit old levels to increase your rating and earn more money.

You use money to upgrade the efficiency of your tools and buy cosmetics. Once you upgrade some stuff like the mop, the game becomes even more fun. Levels are very chill, but occasionally you’ll have a challenge. Don’t break the vase, don’t spray the cat, don’t let the ghost touch you. Doing so will incur a small fee, but the penalty is just a few dollars, and it’s too small to really make a difference. The game is very satisfying overall.

While it’s a very fun game, I did see a few issues that I hope could get fixed later. In the graveyard level, there was one tombstone I had to clean, but I couldn’t reach it without being at a very specific angle. It took me more than five minutes to clean that one item. There was also a level that wouldn’t trigger an ending unless I purposely failed the challenge.

The game also has a ton of humor and meta moments. Listening to your AI companion is hilarious, seeing the reactions to your completed work is a nice touch, and the final level was amazing. It’s a game about cleaning, but so much care was put into every aspect that it doesn’t feel like it.

I don’t like cleaning IRL, but it’s so much fun in the game, and I was constantly going back to old levels to see how newly acquired tools were incorporated. It will take you about two hours to beat, but you won’t want to put it down until it’s all done. $15 is a solid price, and you’ll love it if you enjoy games like PowerWash Simulator.
