Persona 6 Revealed Alongside New Crazy Taxi And Spyro The Dragon Titles At XBOX Games Showcase

Persona 6, Spyro The Dragon, and Crazy Taxi

Sunday was a huge day for gaming thanks to the XBOX Games Showcase. The showcase was meant to highlight the 25th anniversary of XBOX, and all the developers and publishers involved made sure to leave no stone unturned with their announcements. Here’s a list of some of the biggest announcements.

Persona 6 and Persona 4 Revival

For me, the biggest announcements came from Atlus and Sega. First they officially announced Persona 6. No release date has been confirmed, but the newest entry in the widely-popular series will be coming to XBOX Series X and S, PlayStation 5, and Steam. A teaser trailer was also shown, but no additional details were revealed.

Since the release of Persona 5 and it’s updated version, Atlus has shifted their attention towards other Persona spinoffs such as Persona 5 Strikers, Persona 5 Tactica, and the mobile game. But fans have been eagerly awaiting this announcement for years. You can view the full teaser trailer below.

Atlus also revealed more information on the upcoming Persona 4 Revival. Footage from the game was shown at the event and it looks fantastic. Personally, Persona 4 Golden is one of my top 10 favorite games of all time, so I’m really excited to jump back in with these improved graphics.

Fans won’t have to wait long because Atlus pegged February 18, 2027 for the release date. Like Persona 6, this full reimagining of Persona 4 will be available on XBOX Series X and S, PlayStation 5, and Steam. The game is available for pre-order now and has a Digital Deluxe Edition and a Digital Premium Edition.

Crazy Taxi:  World Tour

Another personal favorite of mine is also by Sega, and that’s the release of a brand new Crazy Taxi game. The world has gone far too long without a new Crazy Taxi game and have had to rely on underperforming lookalikes like Taxi Chaos 2 to fill in the void in our hearts. Crazy Taxi: World Tour is a brand new installment in the crazy series.

As a fan of the original game and someone who keeps getting roped into the knockoffs, I’m really excited for this one because of all the extra features. The game will include a detailed story campaign, multiple cities to drive through, lots of customization, and online multiplayer. The game will release at some point in 2027.

Spyro: A Realm Beyond

Crazy Taxi isn’t the only game series returning after a long hiatus. Toys for Bob announced that there’s a brand new Spyro the Dragon on the way. Spyro: A Realm Beyond will be the first mainline Spyro game since The Legend of Spyro: Dawn of the Dragon nearly twenty years ago. The wait hasn’t been that bad since the first three games were ported to modern consoles and Spyro appeared in Skylanders, but having a new mainline game is huge.

According to the developers, flying will play a huge role in the new game and will receive a complete makeover compared to how flying was utilized in previous games. I was a huge fan of the original game, so I’m really looking forward to this one. Spyro: A Realm Beyond will be released in spring 2027 on Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 5, Steam and Xbox Series X.

Those were the three highlights of the showcase, you can see some of the other announcements here.
