Mina The Hollower

Earlier this week, the highly anticipated Mina The Hollower was released for Nintendo Switch and Switch 2, PlayStation 5, XBox Series X and S, and Steam. Developed and Published by Yacht Club Games, Mina The Hollower spent multiple years in development and was delayed from its original 2025 release. But it’s here now, and it’s one of the biggest hits of 2026 so far.

While not as hyped up as indie legend Hollow Knight Silksong, Mina The Hollower accomplished two major feats during its first 48 hours on the market. The first is that it immediately became the highest-rated game of 2026 on Metacritic. Less than two weeks ago, Forza Horizon 6 surpassed Pokemon Pokopia to become the highest-rated game of 2026 with a 91 rating. It was the only game to score at least a 90… Until now.

The PC version of Mina The Hollower currently sits at a 92 rating after 48 critic reviews. An incredible 25% of critics gave the game a perfect score, and 98% gave a positive review. Even amongst games that came out in 2025, Hades II would be the only new release to have a higher rating. The other accomplishment is that the game sold 55,000 copies during its first day, and 300,000 copies after only three days. Both figures are impressive starts.
