Earlier today, Netflix released the first trailer for the highly anticipated One Piece Remake. The remake will air in February 2027 with seven episodes, and will adapt the first 50 chapters of the manga. The only other detail that’s been revealed is that the first episode will be 42 minutes long. Knowing Netflix, we can expect the remaining episodes to have similar runtimes.

Not only is the Wit Studio remake gorgeous, but it promises to be more compact than the original Toei Animation adaptation. For context, the original took 18 22-minute episodes, or 396 minutes of runtime to reach chapter 42. The remake is expected to reach chapter 50 in under 300 minutes.

For many anime, filler serves a good production purpose while also being entertaining. But not all fans care for filler episodes. The remake sums to drastically cut back. You can watch the trailer below.
