Earlier today, four games were inducted into the World Video Game Hall of Fame. The list includes Dragon Quest, Silent Hill, Angry Birds, and FIFA International Soccer. For the 2026 class, there were 12 nominations. Some of the ones who didn’t make it include Mega Man, League of Legends, and The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim.

Dragon Quest and Silent Hill are both newcomers, but Angry Birds and FIFA have previously been nominated three times each. Both titles have also been nominated during the inaugural class of 2015. The four games join a growing class that already included 49 iconic video games going back all the way to 1962. Silent Hill is the second game by Konami to join the esteemed list, following Dance Dance Revolution during the 2022 class.

The Video Game Hall of Fame is operated by International Center for the History of Electronic Games in Rochester. Games are inducted based on four criteria. These include their icon status, influence, longevity, and geographical reach. Other games that have been inducted recently include Resident Evil, SimCity, and The Last of Us.
